Overview

The Security Supervisor provides a safe and secure environment for guests and Associates by preventing or reducing Loss Prevention risks through patrols, audits and interaction with Property Management and staff. Coordinates the daily operations of security services to ensure that the services exceed the expectations of the resort owners/guests. The Security Supervisor ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations and monitors both the productivity and qualitative work product for the Security Guards.

Responsibilities

  1. Reports to the Night Manager and fills in, in the absence of the Director, administering safety and loss-control policy to minimize the number and severity of accidents and injuries.
  2. Responsible for creating and maintaining scheduling for Security Officers, to include F&B and Sales security requests. Make recommendations for security plans related to special events (property and city-wide).
  3. Ensures Daily Security Summary is complete, accurate and distributed daily. Responsible to ensure all paperwork by other guards is complete: Daily logs, lost and found logs, shift reports, incident reports, incoming package logs.
  4. Responsible for training new Security Guards, maintaining training documentation and providing in-service training as needed.
  5. Makes recommendations for projects or safety programs to the Property Manager for approval. This includes contribution of all safety audits and monthly safety meetings and document corrective action taken.
  6. Responsible for execution and compliance of the Security Operating Plan. Implements SOP's and maintains safety measures throughout the entire organization.
  7. Ensures that all areas of the property are inspected for any conditions that pose potential safety problems. Conducts patrols and reports on the condition of the asset: including lighting standards, safety concerns, inventory standards and key audits. 
  8. Contributes to and supports corrective actions initiated by the supervisor responsible for the area, and provides assistance as needed to establish priorities and procedures.
  9. Maintains the system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious safety problems. This includes lighting, equipment defects, Associate behavior, and making recommendations to correct. 
  10. Participates, with representatives of OSHA and the corporate safety department during formal inspections of property safety, and issues a report to the monitoring agency to formally document corrective actions taken.
  11. Monitors safety & security issues, which relates to the long-term effects of factors such as chemical exposure, noise, lighting, heat, humidity, and radiation.
  12. Reviews accidents and incidents reports of those situations occurring to Associates.
  13. Reports to Supervisor, MOD or police authorities any unusual or suspicious condition detected or Associates accidents that could result in injury or loss to company or guests/other Associates.
  14. Checks incoming and outgoing packages and, when directed, Associate lunch boxes.
  15. Patrols Associate entrance/property during arrival and departure shifts.
  16. Supports the MOD by responding to incidents including eviction, injury, bad behavior, missing property, property damage
  17. Reports to Supervisor or MOD any incidence of visitor, driver, or Associate actions which could result in injury or loss to company or Associates.
  18. Performs any other Duties as assigned by the Director of Security or MOD.

Qualifications

EducationHigh school Diploma required - college degree preferred
ExperienceValid CPR/First Aid Certification- must be maintained and provided to HR on annual basis.
ExperiencePolice department training or security guard experience required.
SkillExcellent English verbal and written communication skills.
SkillValid vehicle operator's permit to drive security vehicle.
SkillAbility to tolerate high noise conditions on in-facility tours and exposure to weather conditions on outside tours.
SkillCourteous manner in dealing with public.
