Internships are a significant step in a college student’s journey toward a successful career. At the Cavalier Resort, we provide such invaluable hands-on experience every summer to rising sophomores and seniors pursuing degrees relevant to the hospitality industry. Our internship program also afforded the students networking opportunities with best-in-class hospitality professionals in the Hampton roads area and a unique way to apply classroom learning to the real world in a luxury hospitality setting.
In fulfillment of our commitment to fostering talent in our community and contributing to shaping the next generation of hospitality professionals, we have several openings for enthusiastic and customer focused hospitality summer Intern. The intern will work with our team on day-to-day tasks and deliver excellent guest experience. This internship offers an insightful, hands-on mentorship, experience, professional guidance, and exposure to real-world workplace practices in a supportive learning environment.
The intern will be partnered with one of our properties and assigned to a specific operational area. This individual will perform the functions of the role assigned and have the singular opportunity for hands-on learning of various aspects of our business as well as introducing them to our corporate mission as they learn the ins and outs of the hospitality industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic college Sophomore or Junior to join our team for summer season 2026 and gain hands-on experience in a professional environment, working along side the finest hospitality professionals in Virginia Beach.

A Leadership and Hospitality presentation focused on preparation for entry into the world of work from a General Manager's perspective on Hospitality, share ideas as future business leaders and travelers on what’s important;
Assignment of a senior leader as a mentor, and the opportunity to shadow a senior leader for an insight into Hotel Operations & Rooms responsibility;
Participate in the planning and execution of a banquet event or marketing campaigns;
Mentorship and guidance to work on a special project all Summer and present a report leading up to the end of the internship.
Prerequisite:
Eligibility for the internship program is limited to rising Sophomore or Junior college students, pursuing a degree in hospitality management, events management, marketing and other related business degrees.
If the internship requires the company to complete any paperwork with the college or university, the parameters of the internship must be agreed in advance.
